I haven't posted on Armorama in a long time.
This is the trumpeter T-62 I have been building for my friend Terry Burke's Trumpeter Group Build over on Face Book- of course I missed the end date by two weeks and IT'S STILL NOT FINISHED!. Just a few small things left to do

I replaced some of the conduit on the glacis and added the plumbing from a MIG set- otherwise she's out of the box

Great job, the model looks fantastic. I love the groundwork...very realistic. How did you make it?

Lovely work. Which kit contains the corrected turret?

I Built the slanted sides with plastic card, filled most of inside with building foam and topped it of with plaster mixed with paint. Then I coated it with PVA glue and sieved dried Earth on top.
While it was all still wet I wrapped some cling film over it and pushed the tank down into it to form a track then I took the cling film off and let it dry

Sorry no idea. This is the first T-62 I've built so I'm no expert.

Nice clean build but like a number of others I love the ground work. I have never got results that good even using the same methods. Well Done

I like how you achieved the color fades and modulations. I think you forgot to unmask some of the periscopes though

I hadn't forgotten, as I said at the top it's still not finished.
Okay actually I had forgotten- thanks for reminding me - I'd feel very stupid if I put that on the table at the Irish IPMS Nationals in two weeks with the periscopes covered up

Pat- this is a truly fine beast you've got there. I love the patina on the paintwork- its got that nicely used look going on- the chipped decals really add to that I think- are those painted on or are they dry decals? The weathering too really brings it to life- particularly around the tracks and road wheels- it ties it in really well with the groundwork.

Cheers Karl they are the kit decals. The chipping is a result of over enthusiastic weathering.

Which kit are you building? The hatch appears to be correctly aligned.

It must be a trick of the light
It's this kit:

and I bought it within weeks of it's release.

As far as I know Trumpeter never corrected the turret

1. Nice work. You have done the T-62 proud.

2. No, the hatch is not corrected. It is a trick of the eye/camera/angle. Sorry to not have better news. There are replacement turrets from SP Designs if it bothers you too deeply.

I plan on building an accurate T-62 mod 62. I am aware of several turret options. I was just hoping I might be able to scoop up a spare if it was from a full kit. Didn't want a full kit, minus the correct turret.
