Whats the best method to get ammo belts "bent" to conform to a 1/35 figure?

Off the top of my head, I'd say to dip them in near-boiling water with tweezers until they soften up, then press them into place with something soft like a cotton bud.
Never done it for figs, but it should work.

If by ammo belts you mean belts of .30 or .50 cal., PE ones are very pliable. Plastic ones, like Dragon's, can be very carefully bent between rounds, and softened with liquid glue (Tamiya) on the bottom side, to conform easier. If you mean bandoliers, I cut them into their separate pouches and stick them to a strip of tape for the belt. Then attach to the body.

make sure you put the tips facing out. they tend to dig into your skin and hurt.

Will the belt flex just as easily at the cartridge end of the shells? I thought that, as the projectile end of the shell was narrower (pointier) there was more space between them for compression. Hmmm. just did a quick image search and they will flex in either direction. https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/58/d7/d6/58d7d6788cffb1d7f8162f74fb10529e.jpg Anyway, my Fallschirmjager are tough guys! Those SS are tough guys, too!

Another option is that some of the after market manufacturers produce flexible resin ammunition belts; Yes I always think of stiff resin only.
