Armorama has been sent some images of the IBG Models Chevrolet C60S Petrol Tank in 1/35th scale. This model should be hitting the stores in the next few days.

Interesting, but renders images of CAD views, not plastic, yet!

Jon, this is built model, tyres even have uneven seams from being put together quickly, some other parts also show similar 'building flaws'. You can't possibly get this effect in a render, or maybe you can but you'd have to try hard to replicate this.

Unfortunately i can not find a picture of one of these trucks. On the factory foto CD there are 4 photos but with cab 11. I asked IBG but received no answer .

You will not find, because not many of these 60S chassis Petrol Tank bodies were produced, and they all were fitted only with cab 11 trucks as far as I know. Soon it was replaced by larger tank body used on 60L chassis. Cab 12 or cab 13 used with this truck are not correct. Also the cab 12 seems to have a bit strange shape and front vents used here refer to Ford design, not Chevrolet. Step boards holders used with Cab 12 are for cab 13 design only.
As always with their CMP kits, tyres are wrong, these would be seen rather rarely here or there in British service because of short supplies. With curved discs the wheels should be 10,5x20, but discs seem to be too small compared to tyre size.

But the wheels now offered in the later CMP kits look also terrible.

I second that. Nothing to wonder, the usual bad reserch from that stable. Looking at the 3D renders (because they definitely aren't built models of plastic) I have the bad feeling the IBG people even weren't bothered to represent correct the tank front end (rear is hidden in the storage compartment and isn't visible, of course, but it has the same shape). Convex (or concave) ends are a rule for any tank supposed to transport flammable liquids. The 4E1 body isn't deviation from this rule.

CMOT, I read what you say, but the pics look like CAD's to me.

The idea of multiple different cabs is good, especially if they are complete & could be used to cross-kit more variants.

The further info from other contributors is welcome & informative as I don't know of this variant at all, I want to know who used them, in what theatre of ops...

I do like the IBG's & have several of the Bedford Q series, which have a few minor issues...

Soooo ... Show me the PLASTIC!!! :-)

I am very sure that the pictures show a build or both possible to build kits course you can see some little gaps and using cab 13 the fender is not pisitioned in the middle. And also i started this kit i can say the parts look the same. You cant build both variants the same way course some details are different at the chassis lije the steps if the cabins. I am gonna try to build the cab 11 version that is photograped in the factory foto CD by using parts from my collection of Mirror Models kits.

I do think as modellers we can sometimes be a little harsh when new items are announced, all I ask is that we don't shoot the model down before it is released and someone has taken a closer look. I am not going to get drawn into the cab question as I don'y have a Scoobi Doo.

Here it is released and the kit is quite god but the question is if it was sometimes in this configurations.
