Month ago, I bought new S-Model set which contains two models - Renault R-35 in 1/72 scale of course. That's high quality model with many details although that's fast asembly kit. I spent only one evening to asembly all parts and build whole tank. We can find aditional PE set in the box.
S-model kit completed and ready for painting. Even the barrel was prepared very weell and there was no need to drill as it used to be in braile scale models. Higly recommend!
I'm planning to build the vehicle with 50971 marking number. The tank was in polish service during Semptember in 1939.
For discussion only.
Best,
M.

Looks like a nice little kit. Lots of detail for the size. My only ding is the lack of track sag but that is a minor issue. Do any figures come with the kit?

Hi John,
No figures are attached to the set. However, there is polish producer, which sells polish crew for the tank and others:

I have several sets with figures and planning to use one of them with Renault R-35 on the base.

It is indeed a nice model with very little needing done to it. For figures RetrokiT France and Milicast do French tank crewmen sets. The rear door can also be posed open with is very useful as French tank commanders used to sit on this while steering the tanks.

The solid track guide teeth are noticeable, but painting, weathering, and deep mud can hide them. S-Models is an under-rated company. Their armor models are reasonably priced and well detailed, many containing PE and turned brass, and usually come 2 per box. I have a collection of their 1/700 ship models, and as far as that scale goes, they are excellent kits too!

Biggles2, I agree with you. The S-Model kits are reasonably priced, but they're contain interesting thems also.
I recommend my friend's blog with R-35 gallery from museum:

and more R-35 pics:

I've painted my Renault tank that day. I've decided to "sharp ended" camo with black lines. It has very vivid colours, typical for french camo from this period of War.
I used several Vallejo Model Color and Panzer Aces series paints to create scheme by round brush. At the end, I used extra fine pernament marker in black colour to paint black lines.
In my opinion, this technique is much easier and faster than painting black lines using fine brush.
By the way, I'm preparing figures for small vigniete. Producer of the tank crew is polish resin company "Scibor Miniatures". Higly recommended!

A quick review of a number of plans, photos and artists colour pics (from French sources) shows no signs that anything except solid track guide teeth was used. Can you show otherwise as I'd like to get mine right?

I believe he was referring to how the real R-35 had a guide tooth on each side of the track, whilst S-model represented it as a solid bar with indentations for the wheels.

Finally I've finished the first "polish" project from Sempteber Campagain in 1939. It's Renualt R-35, which was bought by polish army and delivered just before WW2 started. That's way there are french camo and marking on the tank. To remind it's S-Model kit out of the box with Scibor Monstrous Miniatures figures. Highly recommended kits!

Very nicely done, Mateusz. That is exactly what I meant about the guide teeth extending right across the track width.
But a minor point about an otherwise well detailed kit with PE, etc., and TWO to a kit!
