So Dragon has reworked their old Tiger kits #6253 and #6252 and you guess what? Dragon is joking us.

No clear parts for periscopes
No aluminium barrel
crappy DS tracks
No PE for star antenna
No PE for sideskirts
etc.

All for 70€! I'll NEVER buy a Dragon kit again...

If you think that's bad, you see the dolls they just released. At least these Tigers don't look exactly like pre-pubescent children's toys.

I don't care for Dragons other products but what really pisses me off is that they have clear parts for all new Tigers they released (Tunisian/Initial etc.) but NOT for the standard one? What the heck! is wrong with this company...

There was no point in releasing "nerfed" editions of the iconic 6252/6253, since you can get 6600 and 6406, which are effectively the same kits (6600 is an improved 6252 in terms of accuracy)

They just want to cash-in from the hype around 6252/6253. I was crawling the web for months using the keywords "Dragon 6252/3 - Tiger 6252/3 - DML 6252/3" to get the original releases.

I am sure that many of us are still searching for the original kits and many will get the new ones thinking they found what they were looking for...

what a joke. to be perfectly honest i have already lost all the respect (and i had a lot of it) for this company. Go for a Tiger kits from Italeri, plenty of Pe, great molding quality and less than half the price.

Dragon confuses me. It's like they cannot decide which marketing direction they want to go. Take the Tiger initial. The first release has all sorts of extras. Then they release a second Tiger initial with reworked molds, less extras, different boxing. This I can understand. Where they lost me is the apparently re-release the original Tiger Initial without the extras. Why did they go back? Or is it the second, reworked boxing in the first box? Their Early Tiger strategy was weird too. A limited release followed by years totally without an Early. Then the strange Cyberhobby Orange box version, which had an odd mix of decent tiger parts and crap (the road wheels and lower hull come to mind). Finally they are releasing multiple earlies.

How about their Nashorns? They botch the first attempts at a Hornisse and a Nashorn. Later they release a second version with some corrections- makes sense. Then The premium version adds a bunch of extras, which I can still follow. Then they release a Nashorn "Initial/Initial Modified/Early" (Isn't that technically a Hornisse?). This is the smart kit version with lots of new parts- you'd think the pinnacle of Nashorns. Their next step? They plan to re-release the original reworked Nashorn and Hornisse. I just don't understand why they improve their products and then go back to the originals

6253 was released in 2005

Instruction manual
http://www.dragon-models.com/instruction/6253Instruction.PDF
6252 was also released in 2005

Instruction Manual
http://www.dragon-models.com/instruction/6252Instruction.PDF
If these are re-released without those parts then yes..they are cheap. But, flip through the url's & see the parts for 2005 release's.

The second one comes with a camera man!! Did you get the camera man?????
I also noticed Dragon has been skimping, that's why its very important to research the kit before hand. That new T-34/85 German version is just plain basic kit as well.

This is what you get in this rerelease:

"periscopes"... (total joke in year 2015 where every other tiger release has clear parts)

btw... there is no clear part for the drivers visor either so we have a big ugly hole there or build it shut

marking options are limited to a minimum too
(the cut out decals are the unit markings for s.Pz.Abt.101, does anyone of you have 2 of them in stash?)

and at last the new and better star antenna

I don't know. I was not involved in the re-release of these kits, except that I answered a few questions about differences between 6600 and 6252.

I purchased three Panther G's w/ zimmerit the other day. Each was missing a different part. One was missing the copula, one the clear periscopes and all three were missing the DS dented storage boxes. They suck.

The price of this kit on Hobbyeasy is rediculous 114.00 AU is a bit steep and obviously not worth it.
They have done the same with the new M1 kit by skimping the straps for the jerry cans on the bustle they aren't the leader any more in my opinion they just own the market when it comes to German Armor and that's all they are good for.

Well it's going to boil down to if you don't like it don't buy it . Hopefully other company's will step in and fill the void . They already are forcing the DS tracks on you even if you don't want them !

I actually made an account here to pretty much write the same warning...

Still stunned...going to return them...first time ever this is going to happen as I usually build even the crappiest models but this time really feel taken advantage of.

I will throw this in the thread:
While on it, dear Dragon, revise the impossible to follow instructions too. It should not be that hard to make them more user friendly.

Wouldn't you read what was in the contents of a kit before ordereing it blindly and then complaining about it,I know Dragonusaonline usually lists what a kit has or hasn't.It's good to wait for a "whats in the box review" before plunking down big bucks.Did they mislead you as to the contents of the kit you want to return ?

I don't know,just askin ?
