Hi all. Started this hobby late in life, 36 yo and only on my second kit. Skill level is -1 i guess.

I'm currently building the Hobby Boss AAVP7A1 with EAAK kit. My first one was a Tamiya 1/35 Sherman and by my standards, it came out ok although I only am confident using spraycans at the moment. Hand painting skills are very very basic. No airbrush.

I've learned here that the closest match to the real AAV interior is the Tamiya XF-21 (sky). However, my only option is to handpaint the interiors and this seems like a very daunting task because of the size of the model, and my skills are questionable. Is there a close match to the Tamiya Sky color in the spray can department? I also am planning on painting the exterior nato camo using spraycans, may I also ask for color suggestions?

Thanks!!!

Well, the actual color is called Sea Foam Green, and similar shades are widely used in school bus interiors and hospitals, as it is believed to have a calming effect on people. The British Fleet Air Arm had a pale green color called Sky Type S, which was used as a bottom color for British naval aircraft at one time, and that is the color Tamiya is depicting. I know Humbrol had it in their line of enamels, though I don't know if they offer a spray can or not. But you could look in the commercial spray paint department of your local hardware store, and see if they have a pale green in a spray can. Test it on scrap plastic first, to make sure it isn't too aggressive for kit styrene.

I have never understood why Tamiya does not produce their Sky colour in a spray can. So many of their kits require their interiors to be painted that colour.....

Krylon has the exact color named Pistachio in a spray can. It is a perfect match for Sea Foam Green. I don't know if it is available in the P.I. though

It could work but but it seems darker than your desired color. Better check Lil's for the actual color cap to be able to get a better sense of the color. Some tamiya digital swatches tend to have a whiter hue compared to the actual color.
