Hi;
Whats wrong with the kits Barrel, It looks just fine too Me ! The only thing that I am going to replace is the Wheels with resin ones when they come out. Overall your kit looks Great.

Nice build.
Creation of the anti slippery surface on the front of tank and top of the turret would make it looking even better.

It's looking really nice, Olivier.
I'm just wondering.. how can I get that light green color using Tamiya paints? I have Tamiya's Nato green and it looks way too dark for this shade.

Hi Hisham,
I think the best match in the Tamiya range for the brighter French green in the NATO three-tone scheme is XF-5 Flat Green.
Regards,
César

Thanks for the tip, guys... I actually just found I have an old bottle of XF-5 in the drawer.. I'll try it out.
While we're on the subject, do you use Tamiya's Nato brown like it is or do you add something to it to make it lighter?

Hi Hisham,
I have to confess that I was very sceptical before I pained my VBL but I reckon that you cannot go past Humbrol 80 Grass Green and Humbrol 62 Leather as the best colour match for the French camouflage colours and the best part, no mixing a consistent colour every time. They looked so good I re-spayed my Leclerc and will be getting to the AMX 10P and VBCI when time permits.

David.. are you talking about Humbrol enamels or acrylics. I'd still have to took for a place where I can order them and who is willing to ship them
Henri-Pierre... although that would be a fun idea... no.. I just wanted to try the colors out before actually painting my VBL.. and I had this old KV-1 which is missing parts and will never get built, so I thought I'd try the colors on it

I've started construction of AMX-10, too. I'm not familiar with French Armour- this is my first vehicle in these colours.
Do You have any photos of this vehicle with "CONVOI EXCEPTIONNEL" sign installed on the rear of it? I found only one photo- showing front view.
Second thing is orange signal light on top of the turret. Which way is this installed?
Thanks in advance for Your help
Michal

The convoy exeptionell sign is attached between the rear lights and covers the grills.
And the light...well...it's a standard orange light same as used on forklifts and similar...make sure the lightbulb cover points upwards
