Hi guys,

im am currently trying to finish my M270. It is painted in sand color and i am very surprised that the instruction sheet advises me to add white decals (stencils) to the rocket launcher. There are no black decals supplied with the kit. I can´t imagine that there are white markings on a sand colored tank.

Any advice?

Kind regards

Leave off the white stencils. As you suspect, they are incorrect for a sand vehicle. Most sand-painted vehicles, unless they came from the factory in sand, are repainted at unit level and the stencils are painted over and not reapplied. If they were from the factory in sand, the stencils are black.

Hi Alfred,
are you talking about the vehicle or the rockets? I guess the rockets are painted green with white markings.
Gino will correct me.

You are correct Olivier. The M26 rocket pods are dark green w/white stencils. I am assuming he is talking about the vehicle stencils as well.

Hi Oliver,

i am talking about the vehicle. The rocket pads are inside and are painted in green. This is not a big problem, as i am buiding the M270 in marching position; so the rocket pods are only seen from the rear ad partly from the front...

I´ll try to post some WIP pictures tomorrow.

Kind regards

Alfred
