ICM has updated their set with new art and have stated that they will be updating it based on "the wishes of our clients". Whether this involved some of the suggested changes (reversing the revolver in the holster, etc) remains to be seen.

Outside of the Chauchat light machine gun everything. The trench shotgun was in use in Vietnam.

It is disappointing to see the most common rifle used by US Infantry during WW1 left out. . .the United States Rifle, cal .30, Model of 1917 aka M1917 Enfield. They greatly outnumbered the more well known M1903 Springfield.

Historical fact : Congressional Medal of Honor recipient Sergeant Alvin York used the "M1917 Enfield" in his action and not the Springfield.

An M1917 Enfield option would be nice.

With British kit (obviously) would US troops be passable as British, to supplement the amount of figures by ICM? And vice versa? I Googled and, except for kit and personal gear, the basic uniform looks very similar.

Yay, they added the M1897 shotgun I asked for in September.

Biggles2, you could get away with the Brit figures but I would wait to see if ICM release Army or Marines and wearing either puttees or gaiters....only differences are in the Marines with slightly different sleeve cuffs and collars.

Well, I must admit the Yanks were a little late to the party, before going "Over There". I agree that some Doughboys and Marines would be most welcome. Al

US and British uniforms in World War I were noticeably different. The pants and jacket collars were completely different. British had fall collars the US had rigid upright collars. US pants were tapered in shape, British pants were straight legged. The silhouette of a guy in a tunic, puttees and helmet is similar but the uniform is not the same with very noticeable differences. USMC uniforms were also a different color at first being more green. But by war's end many Marines had quite against their will gone to Army uniforms with USMC insignia.

OK. So a little putty and file work might be necessary. Were the uniforms made of different cloth?

The US Infantry will be out probably before the end of the year....ICM has it in their catalogue for 2015 release...let's hope. Hopefully they will also change the .45 magazine pouches...and the revolver holsters need to face butt forward....a 1917 Enfield would be a plus! You can't beat their WWI series, it's impressive that they really did their homework for the sets so far.
