Absolutely beautiful! Robert
I still have mine that has the original motor carriage and motors, that was set up to use the wires that came out of the Tank for a little ways and were connected to that little remote box from back in the day. I wonder if it is possible to use those original motors if they still work, or would I have to replace them with RC compatibles? I know nothing about RC stuff, but I must get this working RC. Great work!

Hi George:
Thanks for the compliment.
As long as the motors have enough power to drive the tracks, they go. You need a dual motor driver or a single driver but with some means of turning off and on each motor for steering. And of course a two channel RC radio system.
Please don't be afraid of RC stuff, you will know how to use it in no time.
And feel free to as any question.
Regards,
Robert

Pretty cool!
I too had one of these wired remote controlled kits back in the 70's. It has drive shafts that are powered from the rear up to a slave gearbox to drive the sprockets up front.
I had a lot of fun with it as it has the soft style torsion bars too.
Quite a fun project and a beautiful tank too!

Thank you Robert!
When I commence to set it up I will P.M. you if I run into trouble. I also want to convert one of my 1/35 tanks to RC, but I must find the one with the best wheel turning capabilities, as well as track effectiveness.

1/35 RC conversions are by far the most difficult ones as there is little room inside the chassis. Keep that in mind.

Needless to say I looked for tank models that come with individual links for assembling the tracks.
Rubber or vinyl tracks are not good for RC.

Then don't miss my T-34/85 in the same scale, I made a chase video around the yard (Russo-Soviet forum).

Found the T-34 video, and then also saw the Jagdpanther & PzII conversions. Really fine work on all of them!! That little PzII scoots around pretty quickly. Cool stuff!!

Yes Robert, I can imagine the challenge of outfitting a 1/35 tank for RC. Tamiya has a few in production, but they did it, therefore I suppose they work. I would go with a King Tiger with all the extra room, or Tamiya's old Panther a, which is just as roomy.

One of the guys here made a successfull RC conversion of a 1/35 Tiger II tank.
This is a "Tank Fest" we made not long ago in the province of Buenos Aires. All of them 1/35 RC conversions. The Tiger I is mine.
I can get more detailed pictures of the inner works in the Tiger II from the owner.

And this is a Tank Fest we made at home, involving different scales and vehicles:
