I wonder if any one has built this kit and can say what they did with the lower front armoured plate as the aluminium plate looks far to perfect and has no weld marks.
Any suggestions please?

I am currently building this kit and i left the plate off. I thought it looked worse with it on. I do not have the talent too try and do anything else with it.

Thanks for replying, I agree that it looks to smooth and there is little that can be done with it. However does leaving it off leave a lip between the upper plate and the lower one?

If the kit calls for it, put it on. The chassis of the F was up armored so adding it will add to the look of it..rough it up if your not happy with the smoothness. That way if you put 2 panthers side by side, a Dragon G & Your new F..you will be able to tell the visual dif of both , in that area anyway. I would also work on the weld seems around it.
Weld seems can be either putty or plastic sprue melted & worked with a knife edge. Take a piece of sprue , melt it...stretch it out while still hot ....stretch it slowly, to the right thickness....hold it till it hardens. Cut to length , glue it to the weld seem, add more glue over top of it to start to melt it...work it with hobby knife edge to form a new weld.
My 2 cents.

Are you sure? Weld marks are easy to scratch build with a thin roll of epoxy putty scarred with a knife even if you're not using premade welds in PE or resin decal.
