My heart skipped a beat when I saw Trumpeter Early T-72 kit, until I checked the box art for 5598, and realized it was just an early T-72B. Still waiting for the actual early variants...

Hi Guys;

If you really want A early T-72, get hold of one of the early turrets with the range finder optics, change the luna on the otherside and add A Small Lite on the side where the Luna was and then add A Hand Rail low on the Turret towards the front. Then you will have A Early T-72; SBS and Miniarm make early turrets with the Range Finder, and the SBS version is not as hard to find as the Miniarm Turret.

CHEERS; MIKE.

I'm sure we'll see the T-72A and its variants from Trumpeter soon enough.

I agree, or at least I hope so - after all, Trumpeter has released a fairly extensive catalog of T-62s, T-64s and T-80s, so we could very well see a Ural and an A (with and without ERA bricks) soon enough.

For both Trumpeter and Hobby Boss I've found that after they release a few variants of a basic model you can make a list of the sprues included in each kit. Invariably there are some gaps in the lettering series, indicating more to come.

Pretty sure we'll see a 'standard' T-72 soon enough - this is becuse I've got about £180 worth of After Market, etched brass and resin to correct the Tamiya kit...
