Have them on my plan to buy list. I was in country during this and spent some time in Pleiku.

I wonder if the two Hellion books are like the Concord Armor at War series? More pictures than text? If so, I am good with that.

Looks like Amazon has a few other books related to the battle. This sounds like an interesting topic to read up on in the future.

Kontum: the battle to save South Vietnam by Thomas P McKenna
Hell in An Loc: The 1972 Easter Invasion and the Battle that saved South Vietnam by Lam Quang Thi
The Battle of An Loc by James Willbanks

Wayne, were you a US Military advisor there?

No, I was with the Army engineers. We were sent up to Pleiku, not too far from Kontum, to work on the runway in case they needed to evacuate. We also took care of support stuff like water system and fire dept. until the civilians came back.

Just a small update. I just got the second book, Tanks in the Streets. Bought it first because it covered the area closest to where I was. Yes, this is very similar to the Concord series books, especially the one by this same author. Many of the pictures are the same, but there are some different ones also. Will probably get the other one soon. Wayne

I got my two volumes yesterday. Each booklet is only 48 pages (rather than 72 pages listed by Amazon).

A4 size pages. Lots of BW pictures, some colour maps and vehicle and aircraft painting profiles.

My overall impression is the book is a lot like Osprey's Campaign series. So there is plenty of text to read and hence the pictures are small (but there are lots of pictures). I paid under $30 CAD each.
