Hi can anyone please help with squadron insignia for the 2RTR during Iraq campaign. As well as individual tank markings. I known the following squadrons where used.
AJAX - Challenger 2 armoured squadron
BADGER - Challenger 2 armoured squadron
CYCLOPS - Challenger 2 armoured squadron
DREADNAUGHT - Command and reconnaissance squadron
EGYPT - Headquarters squadron
FALCON - CBRN reconnaissance squadron
Thanks.

Hi Deon,
The squadrons you've listed are actually as the RTR is now, not for 2RTR back then.

During Op Telic 2RTRs CR2 squadrons were actually these:
Badger - triangle tac symbol and wore a badgers head
Cyclops - square tac symbol and wore a cyclops eye
Egypt - circle tac symbol and wore a scorpion
Falcon - rectangle tac symbol and wore a falcons head

HQ Sqn (including Recce) was Nero and had the diamond tac symbol

Echelon do a set of decals (T35010) and even if you don't want them it's worth looking out the instructions if you can find them to see what goes where.

Awesome. Thanks for the info. Will go have a look at the site Ehelon. Can't wait to get back into modeling.

I know have the "me wants" lol. So many after market products available now compared to when I used to model. Will be looking at etched parts, workable link tracks ect.

My dream project would be to upgrade a Centurion to a South Africa Oliphant mark 1B. A tank I drove and was a gunner on while serving with Regiment President Steyn.
