Hello,
I've builded some time ago Dragon's M4A2 from Tarawa and I wanted to make some vigniette with the sandy beach and two USMC next to the tank. Also I want to use some plants etc. Anyone have any good pictures I can refeer to?
I want to keep the scene simple and not ruin the work with the tank with the mesy or non historicaly good dio.
This is my M4A2
All help much needed. What sort of materials should I use?

Google image search for Tarawa battle beaches will give you plenty of ideas.

Hi Lukasz,
Brilliant work on your tank. From the second picture Jesse posted it appears the trees nearest the beach were coconut palms. Maybe a palm log with a blasted end and some fronds like the one you have on the back of your tank. Not sure if you are wanting to depict a scene during or after the battle. The tank operated along the edge of the beach in the water when it became bogged down. You might consider marines taking cover by the tank near low tide if you don't want to depict water in your dio or possibly the marines attaching a tow cable to another vehicle off the edge of your dio as their first attenpt at retrieval. There was also a lot of abandoned gear on the beach as well as bodies during the battle. Again, stellar work on the tank.

Very NICE, Lukasz!!! See Jesse's photos- They should give you some good ideas. As to materials, and how to use them, try some of the MIG PRODUCTIONS "How To" books...

Thanks guys for the photos and help.
I'll try to use Vallejo Sandy Paste to recreate sand and some gear filled around with sand. Also I've found in my stash Verlinden's resin palm tree and two USMC soldiers in fighting poses.
In few days I will show some photos with the conception.
