Meng: ZSU-23-4 ShilkaPosted: Wednesday, November 04, 2015 - 04:08 PM UTC
Meng Models has released a video that leaves the viewer in no doubt as to what they will get with the Russian ZSU-23-4 Shilka Self-propelled Anti-aircraft Gun in 1/35th scale. This looks to be another stunner from Meng Models and I look forward to its release.

Signing a blank check over to Meng. Can't wait for its release. The Dragon release(s) were dogs.

Looks very nice. The driver's station and ammo bay details look great. I wish they had included turret interior details as well. Still looks to be great and I will probably get one. Looks like it is time to sell the Dragon Shilka.

Very cool video, but I wonder what we'll ultimatly see in the box as the video looks to show the V1 version while the box art looks to show the M with IFF setup . Another thing noted from the video is that while it'll be nice to have those ammo bin inserts , that's just what they are. The actual ammo bins and gun coolant tank extend all the way to the turret floor, about 3 times the depth they are depicted as.
I'll be curious to see how the Hong kit stacks up.

With the stowage in place, I doubt you can see the bottom of the compartment.

Are they teasing us with that T-72B in the background?!?!? They've already got a bunch of parts done with their T-90's....

Seeing that there are at least 2 new ZSU-23-4s coming out and both look to have only the driver's area included, does anyone know what happened to the old Trax interior sets? Any idea who has the molds or originals? It would be great if they resurfaced to add some turret interiors to these kits.

Actually, MENG can do those balls and chains in plastic, like they did with the Merkava, otherwise, I doubt anyone would want to do all of those with metal chains

Not complaining, but an M-163 VADS would also be nice - there hasn't been one in a while. And the ZSU-57-2 has never been released in plastic.
Anyway, I love SPAAGs - there can't be too many.

This is the most brilliant piece of product marketing I have seen from any modelling manufacturer. No room whatsoever for speculation about what is included. Meng truly is one of the most innovative manufacturers on the block, from the choice of subjects to the way they market their kits. Hope they will do more films like this.
