Here's yet another set of photos on my figures which are 120MM figures from Verlinden.
I was unable to get the Sten to fit correctly which forced me to cut off the left hand and replace it with a spare.
Let me know what you think about that decsion.....
Additionally, I broke a few of the fingers on the hand of the figure being carries, so i made a bandage to cover the missing the fingers. Curious on your thoughts of that as well.
Still need to paint one set of boots, add a dull coat and do the ground work....
JOhn 17: Added a slighly darker shadow to the guy being carried.
Manchu: Added some blood to the face...

The hand is really nice, I like it.
The figure being carried is a bit 'clean', are you going to add pastels to parts of him, elbows, knees etc?
The standing figures back left knee is a bit dark with respect to the shadow. The long crease seams so much darker than the short crease.

Scott;
I haven't figured out how I'm going to dirty these guys up since the base color is my usual color for dirt.... Pastels is a good suggestion though

Great figure and nice improvising with the bandage it looks very realistic.
Has our hero lost his weapon then? or will you be attaching it somewhere else?
As to the wounded man. The blood on the face looks good. It looks like he wasn't wounded long before help arrived. Also, as the the hand wound. That's pretty major. If he was in major pain, he probably would have hugged his hand to his chest or stomach, staining his shirt and possibly his pants. Might consider some additional residual staining of his clothes. But don't get too gory!
All in all it's a great set and your SBS feature was very good too. Congrats! Can't wait to see the completed scene!

Nate, it looks very nice indeed. The bandage on the hand fits well and does not seem out of place. I'd agree that both figures could use some weathering with pastels but other than that the pair looks good.

Overall very good work! The smock and the article are both top notch. The bandage on the hand looks very good but if he was carrying him for any length of time there might be a little blood on the troopers back from his pal's arm swinging and scattering blood around. That is a piddly little detail but its about the only thing I can think to add, besides the weathering, which you are not finished with. The figures are both very good, particularily the Sgt, he seems very determined to get his buddy to safety. Your work on the face really makes that figure come to life.

Hey Nate!
Great job! I really think that the blood on the face is excellent and the hand is a nice touch. As for the guy holding against something with it because of pain, he could be passed out as the head wound looks kinda bad. Great Job Nate!
Ive asked this before but got no response, as these figures are pretty old, are they still available?

I like very much the project and how it is going to the end. I like the blood effect and as said the only think that you will have to take care is dirtying up with pastels and getting this new look off. The hands look great and the bandaged one also ..

changes on the hands look good, especially the bloody hand is a good addition. will you use the sten in another way, hanging on the shoulder under the wounded figure or it will go to the spare box?

Smashing.
I'll add these pictures and the text to the Feature later this week. When the figures are done, we'll also have a completed article.

Thanks for the suggestions. I dirtied thguys up a little using some drybrushing with sand and grey colors, I meesed around with some pastels but wasn't all that keen on the effect.
I changed out the hand on the guy standing by taking one off a Cossack I never finished, so he is now wounded too. I think I might add a little blood on the back of the smock, though I don't know how well it will show up.
The Sten is history, there's reall not a good way to mount it and I discovered it wouldn't work too late in the process. I messed around with the ideas of adding an Enfield of a surrender flag and abandoned both. He's simply unarmed which I think could be plausable.
I've also decided to do a simple base. I had planned on a more elaborate setting, but Verlinden did this figures feet in such a way that other that mounting it to the supplied base, it doesn't stand correctly.
Anders: As far as I know you can still find these guys from places like Roll Models, but they'll run about $50.
I found my on E-bay for $19.
