"Kuba" posted this in my thread about MENG's mysterious announcements, but I think it got lost in there, so I thought I'd post it alone... it's worth it
This will definitely make a lot of people very happy

Interesting. Meng already has an F-350 in 1/24. I wonder if they are scaling it down or planning an all-new mold. Or if this is just someone's wishful thinking and a hoax pic/kit #.
I hope it is genuine. It would be useful in building a PCM guntruck or some other heavy civilian vehicle as seen in Iraq and A'stan.

Not a hoax, they posted this on their FB page with a kit number as part of the Velociraptor series and not the 1/24 scale car series like the other one.

The hard work (design) is already done, why not scale it down?

Looks like a 2008 model, so it's too recent for an early OIF dio...

And since I was still in Iraq in 2008 it'll be easy to replicate a lot of the contractor vehicles there. Unfortunately, due to Ford's wishes, no militarized pieces can be included in the kit. Fortunately the ole Vajra kit had a few options for the back, all of which I've kept.

Sounds like it is actual then. Good deal. I was last in Iraq in '08-'09 as well and saw a bunch of PMC-type guntrucks and others at that time. It will be a very handy kit. "Militarizing" it shouldn't be too hard at all. Lots of options out there for materials.
Rob, is this one of the upcoming kits you were alluding to earlier, one I would like?

I had nothing to do with this kit, other proofing (and adding to) the instructions for the larger kit in January of last year. Don't know if they'll use that same write up or not.

Oh well, still trying to guess what else is coming. The suspense is killing me....

I know, it is killing me since I am a Chevy guy. I will still get one, but will have to wash my hands after touching it.

At least it is used by the Iraqi Police. In March 2008 the Iraqi Police purchased 2,600 vehicles including 300 Ford F-350 super duty pick-up trucks :

Man, that second pic looks really scary. The platform doesn't look stable at all. The supports look way too flimsy. I wouldn't want to be on it when moving and fifing the gun.
Here are some other options, PMC guntrucks. Maybe not '08 trucks, but it still could be used.

Once again, my photos seem to pop up. That second was was taken by me in Rabiah, Ninewa Province, in '08. I've got more of those to use as references.

good choice
Some were used by IDF as well
Hope Meng will do the front face as a separate panel so it will be more easy for the after market companies to make some different style of the headlights and grills.

I also hope they do the doors separate like their second Toyota trucks and not like the first Hilux kits.

Gino, if you're a Chevy guy, you'll have to wash your hands BEFORE you touch it. (I was a Ford Truck Design Engineer and Supervisor for 30 years, so I'm JUST a bit partial!)
