Animal,
Does the kit come with the dog house for the trailer? It is very close to the one on my trailer back in 1984.

Very nice work on one of my favorite vehicles, Animal. Excellent weathering all around. Looksk like the hardtop has a bit of a fit problem just in front of the driver?
I did the CMK resin conversion and per Verlinden's Warmachine book on the M151 I added a aircraft style blade antenna to the top and mucho radio gear inside. The pics in the Verlinden book show a larger, rectangular outside mirror. Also, I can't tell from the pic, the bok talks about the dog house being a field mod, often made of plywood. Did the Academy kit make this look wooden, i.e., woodgrain tot he plastic?? I use very thin plywood for the two doghouse trialers in the "pack of MUTTS."

I'd have to add a blue light and siren, otherwise , looks a lot like my old jeep from when I was at the Gap.

The dog houses were made of plywood, but the roof was covered (upholstered?) in a thin tarp material to give it some semblance of water resistance. The camouflage pattern was painted directly over the canvas.
They were field modifications and while they all looked alike, probably no two were exactly the same. Same goes for the 5 gallon can racks, the placement and even presence of them differed from trailer to trailer. They all had hinges at the top. Nothing fancy, like the type you can pick up at a local hardware store. The bottom edge normally had a hasp for a padlock in the center, sometimes two hasps/padlocks on the same side.
During REFORGER 88, our B Company's 1SG trailer was broken into and the PRC-77 with VINSON attached was stolen. I had to do the report of survey on the incident and part of my investigation was to inspect all the trailers to see if they could truly be considered "secure".
I would have loved to build this kit way back then. BTW, my findings were that they weren't secure since I could peel the ones with one hasp back far enough to get my arm into the trailer and even the two hasp ones I could have easily pried it open using some type of bar for leverage.

Ahhh...Report of Survey. I've done a few of those. Makes me almost miss my Active Duty days. Almost, .
Animal Nice job on the Mutt. Did you find it locally or order it? Haven't seen one here yet, but it may be on the next dogsled in.
