Hello everyone,
I have recently acquired the new SA-8 kit from Trumpeter. Before starting the build, I am trying to figure out exactly what version has Trumpeter kitted. My guess is, this is the 9K33M2 or the 9K33M3. Unfortunately I dont know that much about this vehicle, could anyone help me?
Edit: here is a link to an excellent walkaround with the basic 9K33M2: http://svsm.org/gallery/sa-8
For the other vesions, there are several extensive walkarounds on Dishmodels.

Hi;
What you have there in the walk-around is the Basic early varient with the SAMS un-boxed. The Trumpeter kit is of A Later Mk; ! The Gecko Missiles were later made with longer range and Anti-jamming features, and later versions of the TEL had Better Engines.
CHEERS; MIKE.

From what I can see it best matches these vehicles from the Dishmodels site:
http://www.dishmodels.ru/wshow.htm?p=637
http://www.dishmodels.ru/wshow.htm?p=1080
especially with reference to details of the missile launcher architecture. Pics I have taken myself of two other vehicles look more like other walkarounds I have seen with a slightly different mounting frame for the missile boxes similar to this one:
http://www.dishmodels.ru/wshow.htm?np=3&p=3279&vmode=T&lng=E
note the three control handles and associated pipework on each frame, not present on Trumpeter kit.
So I would say Trumpeter one is a 9A33M3 while the other version is a 9А33БМ3?
Hopefully someone can give a definite answer?

Thanks a lot for the answers. Now I sort of know what I am building.

Thanks all. So the differences in mounting hardware don't make a difference between types?
