Hey all., a few weeks i started with my first real big diorama on 1/35 scale. Its a "modern" zombie based diorama with a few vehicles on the streets and underneath there will be a small metro station.
i started out with making the base, buildings and metro tunnel out of MDF boards.
In this project ill be using some MiniArt buildings + stairs for making the the buildings
Let me show you some pictures about making the frame for this diorama!

this is the tunnel part.

Here some pictures from Building#1 with stairs on the outside

here some pictures when the painting is almost done with building#1.

next is the stairs too the metro station.

At this point its all work in progress., im trying to work atleast 2 hours a day on this project and in my opinion its working out great
thnx for checking this post out.
and ill keep showing more pictures later this week

This looks fantastic already and there's not a zombie in sight. Do you a particular city in mind or are you just going for big city feel? Are you planning to have the zombies coming up out of the subway? Will you be scratch building them...which I realize now is a dumb question

Cheers!

@ironelf
I dont have a specific city in mind. its more like the big city is overrun and this is a bit away from the main city so you can get supplies rather "safely"

Here 2 more pictures

You can also check out my Blog.,language used is dutch but theres a lot more pictures of the build!

I really like the fire-escape and I think it and the wall could be at home in any urban diorama. I like the stacked nature with the surface and subway. It'll be interesting to see this one develop. Great work.

Wow Patrick - looks great so far and will be following with interest. I'm slowly working on a very similarly themed dio and am building the same buildings you have used so appreciate how much work has gone in to get them (especially the fire escape etc) looking that good. Looking forward to the next update.

I'm shamelessly copying the buildings done by Satoshi Araki in his Gotham diorama - I'm guessing you were also similarly inspired by his diorama but if not, recommend you google him and check out his blog as will be helpful inspiration for your setting for sure. He is an absolute master. Have added a couple of pictures from his Gotham Diorama for other fans of this setting ...

Very nice! Are all the wall components as well as stairs, etc., from MiniArt?

Wow, that looks fantastic and hyper-realistic! Kudos!

There are a few companies to choose 1/35 zombies and survivor figures from: MAiM, Not Yet Dead Miniatures, Masterbox, Northstar Models (I think these might be 1/32 though), and Blackdog just to name a few off the top of my head.

@ J Anthony : yes im very inspired by his work im hoping to get close to his realistic painting

@Trisaw : I already have the Masterbox kit with the motorcycle girl + zombies., and definitly gonna use some Not Yet Dead + mAiM figures.

@: biggles : the wall components + the stairs are MiniArt., but i made lots of adjustments for example the depth of the balcony, made my own pipe works and making the fire escape ladder was very fun

And thanks for all the nice comments

Went to your website in hopes of seeing the completed diorama. Any photos you can post here? Going for 1/35th scale zombie/ apocalypse dioramas myself, one which will be using both of Miniarts stairs.
