Today I got my Squadron order and inside was a flyer for a new magazine called Armor Models from Euro Modelismo. Subscription form indentifies it as the North American Edition. According to the flyer these are the features:

  • Published bi-monthly
  • 64 pages
  • Full color
  • Covers all eras
  • MBTs to softskins
  • Detailing figures
  • Color cut-a-ways
  • Conversions
  • Detailing
  • Camouflage
  • Markings
  • Color side views
  • Painting
  • Weathering
  • $9.95 retail
  • 100% English text

Anyone ever hear of this or see it? Six issues subscription is $44.95 which is around $7.50 an issue. Sounds like I may need to subscribe to check it out.

Rob, does it say anywhere on the form that it's from "Accion Press"?
If so, you will love it. These are published in Spain. I picked up a copy when I was there last year - Euro Modelismo Figuras, which is chock full of terrific pics, tips and all sorts of other goodies.
Let me know.

Howdy Rob,

For a second there I thought you might have been talking about 'MODEL' magazine. An apparently French publication I recently picked up that is exquisite! The issue I picked up is "Numero 4" and is entitled "a visual quarterly modeling guide". Really nice.
But, apparently I was wrong.
I would like to get more info on your mag if that is possible? Meaning contact address, etc.

Tread.

It took a bit, but I found it. And it's good to know that it is Accion Press that is publishing it. They do some awesome mags.

I just ordered it.

They should run a banner ad on the site to announce it.

I am rather surprised how low we are running on Squadron's radar screen. Hmm...their server appears to be down at the moment.

I placed my order via phone as well. I had not heard of Accion, nor is that name listed on the flyer. Sorry to mislead you.

No problem Rob. It's just that when I heard the title, I knew Accion had to have something to do with it. When I was in Barcelona, I looked at several of their publications and was very impressed. At the time I knew very little Spanish (that's all they were printed in) but the pics alone spoke volumes.

Jimbrae, I for one, have a growing interest in Spanish vehicles. After all, it's my wives home land. ...how soon Jim?

I added Acción Press as a vendor with logo if anyone wants to do any magazine reviews or new articles.

Cheers,
Jim

That's a coincidence.....thanks Jim. If anyone is interested I could do a kind of feature on them...lot of stuff out there that hasn't arrived outside Spain yet...Jim

While we're talking about company logos, can we have one for FORMATIONS as well?

I got a copy of the first volume last night at my LHS while I was there for our monthly armor club meeting. While I have only had a chance to flip through it, in my opinion this magazine is very high quality. It has articles with how to pictures, color references (using Andrea and Model Color) and color plates of the mid-production Tiger I ala Concord and Squadron publications, and a two page color picture of the mid-production Tiger I discussed in the magazine. The publishing info. states that Accion Press is the publisher. Well worth its $9.95 price.

A bit of an update on 'Armor Models' or 'Panzer Aces' . The pic is of Armor Models, what I have in advertisement in front of me is 'Panzer Aces'..... The price for a one-year subscription (outside Europe) is €63 (6 Issues)... Which according to my reckoning, is pretty much what you are paying at the moment for single-issues....I'm getting confused here, Panzer Aces or Armor Models? #:-) ......Jim
