All,
I was noticing that some of the links in posts are coming out wrong or don't work. You may want to review the directions on using the BB Code URL functions. It in the Postboard FAQ link below. I would try to help out and explain it here. But unfortunately all the examples would turn into links and you wouldn't see the real BB Code.
To summarize though if you use the URL= function you need to copy and paste the URL into the area where it says "put.url.here". Then just change the "linkname" text to what you want the link to say.
Thanks,
Jim

Jim, do I first delete in between the quotes? "put.url.here" than paste in that space?
I'm so confused

The easiest way to make a link is to simply paste the web page address directly into the message. This board allows you to do that w/o inserting the url or href tags.
For example, all I'm going to do to get a link to Armorama to show up is type the web page address which is https://armorama.kitmaker.net
It's easy as that!

Bryan is right. If your dealing with a short name just type or paste it in. If you do opt to use the URL= function though you do need to delete the put.url.here and replace it with the link address. Just experiment with it if you want it to work.
Practice, practice, practice....

I like using the html version instead:
<A HREF="https://armorama.kitmaker.net/" title="Armorama"> Armorama</A>
HREF is the web page address.
title is the text displayed when the link is moused over.
The last bit of text (in this case Armorama) is what text will form the actual hyperlink.
The actual link using the format agove would look like this:
Armorama
Notice it says Armorama when you mouse over it.

Bryan,
I see you fixed that error.
If you can also add "target=_blank" to your A tag that would be nice. That way it opens up a new window and they don't loose the site. That's one of the reasons the BB code is nice as it does this automatically.

Your right Jim. I was in the middle of editing it so that it listed the code w/o actually making a link. LOL!
Roger that on the target tag.

Ahh...I forgot that is why they have the code function in the BB code stuff.
Code:
Cool!
Jim
Code:
<a href="http://www.site.com" target="_blank" title="sitename">sitename</a>
Cool!

Forget it! I can rip a PC apart and put it back together blindfolded. I can fix nearly anything bugging a PC. I can install configure and optimize any piece of hardware.
I just cannot understand anything to do with code. I'll just paste the link in the post and be done with it. Everything in the above posts looks like Chinese to me. Eeeek!

Cut and paste, thats all there is to it. No chance for a mistake typing in the address. Go the the page, highlight the full address and cut or copy it, go to the message and paste it. Done
