It is looking really good. There area a couple issues with the smaller details though. The MRE boxes you used are modern ones that are post-Desert Storm. You want the older ones which were flatter boxes. The bottom one in the below pic is the older style, while the top one is newer and the ones you used.

Also, the fuel cans that you have in the right rear corner of the turret basket should be a medium brown color, not green.

Lastly, the antennas look too long to me. They are in two 4' sections for a total of 8' long in actuality. That equals 2 3/4 inches in 1/35. Also, they should be dark green, not black.

The round base should also be green.

Hope those help to make it more accurate and look even better. Keep up the great work.

Thank you. The MRE boxes I used Were the ones provided by Tamiya with the kit. So I assumed they were the correct ones. The jerry cans, I will try to unglue and repaint. The length of the anntenae I got from photos so I am sure they are very close to size. And the color, I did see some Black ones in my reference photos, but will recheck. But thanks for the info.

Tamiya got the MREs wrong. I never trust a model company on gear and markings. They are usually off.

There are thinner black antennas, but they are newer and were not used during ODS ('90-'91) when your model depicts.

Newer antennas on modern M1A1/A2 Abrams.

Marcos,

Your ODS M1A1 Abrams is turning out really nice. The "Chocolate Chip" DCUs look great.

It looks like the Loader Figure has a white T-shirt. If he does, it should be a light brown/dark tan (depending on fading).

Keep up your great work!

Thank you, Fixed! Any other obvious mistakes, before I call this one done? The c-ration boxes I know now they are wrong, but I will keep them because I don't have the earlier version.

Looks great to me. Only small thing is, if it were me, I'd ditch the m16. Unlikely to see a rifle tossed haphazardly on the turret roof while in the midst of some operation (as evidenced by the placement and poses of the figures). Rifles are life and death, and anything not strapped down on a tank isn't going to make it.

It turned out very well! Very inspiring. I may have to do an ODS Abrams at some point.

Hi Marcos,

Thanks for posting the 360 degree walk around views of the final! Quite a build and nice to see from many different directions, there's a lot going on - looks great!

Cheers
Nick

Marcos,

One suggestion would be adding some dust to everything, especially the OD Green tarps, since that talcum powder like stuff got everywhere and on everything!

Otherwise, your Abrams turned out to be quite realistic looking and the figures look especially nice.

Thanks nick and jeff. I am going to leave it like it is for a while as I have started a new project. A Chinese PLA Meng Shi with special forces. This one should't take too long. But thanks.
