Hi I really struggle with painting interiors and stowage once i get the base coats down I like to use a brush to do the finer details however sometimes the paint doesn't stick or things just turn out horribly wrong. I like to make modern armour and wheeled vehicles so the interior is quite prominent so i'm just looking for a few pointers on how you guys approach interiors and stowage.

Detail painting comes down to experience and planning ahead. I find it easier to paint stowage separately and then glue it on before final weathering wherever and whenever possible. Drilling small holes and then gluing parts onto toothpicks makes handling easier. Interiors are painted the same way as the exterior with the exception that you will have to really think about the sequence. Do you glue the turret roof to the turret shell then paint or paint everything then glue? At what stage do you add the bits and bobs that go into the interior? Painted? Unpainted? If you think that the surrounding area will get messed up by painting an item, then paint items separately. If you think you won't be able to easily get at an area, say the floor or roof, paint it first. You can always glue things in place with pva (white) or acrylic glues, or even varnish in some cases so you don't always have to worry about glue ruining your paint job. Planning and thinking things through will make life easier and as you build more kits, you'll get a better idea of what can and can't be done. Sometimes you have to make the best of a not so ideal situation but try not to, ahem, paint yourself into a corner.
