ICM continue to announce injected moulded figures, that I suspect most like me never thought we would see. This time around it is a set of Finnish Ski Troops in 1/35th scale.

Reindeers, eh? Appropriate for this time of year. Does any one of them happen to have a red nose? (Probably from drinking too much "caribou")

About flippin time, Finnish figures have been conspicuous by their absence. I just hope they make an actual Suomi and don't throw in a PPSh.

Here, "caribou" is cheap wine mixed with 100% grain alcohol!

Very nice!! Could make a variety of dios scenarios possible. I'm surprised though, that no one has said, "What another pointing Finn?" the way we used to hear with Dragon figure sets.

Umm, it's "reindeer', not "reindeers". Sorry for being an a**!

I may even buy 4 or 5 of these sets and scratch-build/convert a figure into Saint Nick, scratch-build his sleigh, fill it with presents for the kids, and "dress-up" the reindeer appropriately. Might even come up with a cute "Santa's Helper" and a few elves, as well! What the heck, let's have some fun with this stuff!!!

Quick way to go blind, eh?

Saaay, whatever happened to the Canadian comedians who made "Eh?", "Hosers" and "Hoseheads" famous? I used to watch those guys on TV! Even their DOG was named "Hosehead"!!!

Are there any scale plans out for the sleigh?

Not that I know of. There are too many variations, especially in American childrens' books. I would go with "Twas the Night Before Christmas" books... I personally would refer to illustrated versions printed in the 1890s... These would be eminently more desirable than today's offerings...

In any case, this new vignette makes for a very long overdue interesting and different subject. "The Winter War" between Finland and the Soviet Union needs more coverage on the modelling scene... This was a very fierce and bloody conflict of survival of tiny Finland against the Soviet Giant.

Perhaps ICM or some other enterprising model company could give us a "concealed" Finnish Lahti Anti-tank Rifle Team..?
