Heya, Folks,

Looks like a lot of great build logging going on here of the Tiger Models AMX-10RCR.

Does anyone have a list of changes that need to be made to configure it to a vehicle serving in Afghanistan? I understand the kit as is, would not be configured for this conflict.

And while I am asking, would the kit out of the box represent a vehicle serving in Mali or would it also need changes as well?

I know that Blast has a number of great-looking update sets, but I may try to do what I can with good old styrene, etc. given that Christmas is on short-final approach...

And would the AMX-10RCRs in either conflict be crewed by Foreign Legion crews?? Sorry, don't know much about the French forces in either conflict, but I am looking forward to learning!

Again, I really appreciate the kind souls working on the kit and posting their progress...

Thanks, Folks!

With Regards and Aloha,

Johnny B.

My best bet is you get pictures of actual 10 RCR as deployed to Afghanistan and depict the missing items. Basically you will have to add the IED jammers.

For operation Serval in Mali, the same advice applies but my guess is the vehicles were not very different from the TM kit. So the build should be more straightforward.

A good site to find pictures is theatrum belli.

They also have a FB page with interesting pics.

The last point about Foreign Legion: yes there is a Foreign Legion regiment equipped with 10 RCR but there are many more regiments in the French order of battle which are equipped with it. All of them have already served either in Afghanistan or in Mali/Chad.

Hi Johnny,
I build my -10 from, Operation Serval almost straight OOTB. The link that Olivier provided has some very good images. I give my model a Blast treatment with all the bells and whistles. But maybe it`s just enough to add some grenades to the Galix lauchers.
Cheers
