Hello
I have a MENG Cougar 6x6. I would like to make it in different colour as sand like US Army or USMC. Can somebody tell me if any forces in Iraq or Afghanistan have been used this vehicle in other painting color ( not sand ) like e.g. 3 tone nato or green ...
Thank You for help

What about an Italian one in Afghanistan ?

But you'll have to scratchbuilt the raised roof top and the specific Platt MR655 Shielded Ring Mount though...

Thx Frenchy for these pictures.
An Italian friend of mine said me, some times ago, that there was only one Cougar painted in 3 tons camo. That was a test, and no other trucks were painted in this way.

Salut Pascal

IIRC, only six Italian Cougar 6x6's were deployed in Afghanistan, and if there was only one painted in 3-tone camo, other pics of this one may be hard to find

Now that some countries have pulled out of Afghanistan/Iraq, have the vehicles been repainted when they were returned home? ie, have the US or Canada repainted any of the vehicles returned home and what color would they have been painted?

Ours are still desert sand.

Curious,

Here two pics of an italian cougar in Afghanistan. It seems different than the one on the photos you have posted above.

The one in 3-tone camo pictured there looks to be the same as the one in the top picture in my post (it has green ISAF markings on the hull sides), before being fitted with IED jammers. I guess some of the other pics show the same Cougar at a later time (green ISAF markings have been removed )...

The top picture has been taken in 2010, and this one :

has been taken in october 2012...

OK. On "master miniatures pics" a deconcerting point is that a window frame is in sand color, and I'm not sure but the running board on the rear seems to be in sand color too.

Perhaps a replaced and not repainted parts ?

Not disconcerting in the least! Adds visual interest, especially if you know it was actually done.

Same situation in the second picture I've posted with the sand painted windshield frame.
