I am currently taking care of sick family and don't have many opportunities to paint(mainly on weekends when the weather permits), not to mention I have to use the camera on my phone. It took me a few days, but I managed to finish assembling and priming Tamiya's M4A1 in 1:48. I am really enjoying this new scale and it is a bit easier, on my wallet. I think I will pick up a panzer III or IV and T-34 to compliment the Sherman.

They are nice kits, they got me started on armor back in 2006.There are more AM options now if you go that route, but they do build up nicely.Just wasn't crazy about the metal hull.

One thing I do like is the hull. It adds enough weight to the kit that I don't have to worry about absent-mindedly knocking it off my bench.

The new ones like the JS-2,give you some metal bars as ballast in the bottom of the plastic hull to add some heft.

Before you go further, the lifting ring on the left rear sponson seems to have fallen over and is lying flat on the sponson. You can straighten it up before painting.

Good catch. I had not noticed that. The lifting ring on the opposite sponson had fallen to a 70 deg. angle, as well.
