Hi Gang,
I must confess I haven`t seen Episode 7 yet and a Tie Fighter is no AFV at all. But the fact that kit is in 1/35 scale gives some possibilities for making accompaning figures.

Add in Dragon's announcement of an AT-AT in 1/35 (which surely is an AFV...)

Hi Gang,

Not a great movie due to a poor scenario (far too much inspired by the episode 4).
I expected far more for a new area!

Hi
Took a look and can see these are the snap together, no glue required models it seems.
Interested in the Mil'Falcon in 1:72 scale till I saw the prices. On Ebay anywhere between £42 to £60 this is for a snap together virtual "toy" That's a rip off. People moan about Dragon and Tamiya prices

Ooh, that's a whole can of worms right there: "Dragon have mixed up features from an early and mid-production AT-AT, and the leg spacing is all wrong..."

I wonder if they access to the Lucasfilm props or did they guess the scale by watching Episode V

Don't agree, I think it's a great movie. It's what Star Wars is all about, this one's much more Star Wars than the awful Prequels together.

Revell's Star Wars model kits are quite well known for their high prices and questionable quality compared to other contemporary Sci-Fi kits. However, if you look at other companies' pre-painted model kits, pre-painting actually drives the costs up.
The "Master Series" are reboxed Fine Molds kits, they're quite expensive because Revell still imports them from Japan.

A post on the bottom of this thread illustrates the discrepancy between Dragon's kit and the ILM studio model. If true, they didn't have access to the real props but did gather plenty of reference books according to their Facebook page.

Good to know! Then I further avoid DML kits. Theres is plenty much better armor stuff around from China.
Hmmm... if you see the Galactic Empire as the Nazis of that time, then the AT-AT must have been a highliy detailed, kit with movable legs and neck, all hatches openable and turned barrels for the blasters.

You wouldn't have a choice if you wanted a 1/35 scale AT-AT, DML is the only way to go. If we're asking for articulation and other gimmicks, Bandai has us covered but don't realistically expect anything to be done in large scale. Especially not the AT-AT.

I have the Bandai 1/48 At-St in my stack to build. Bandai did a super job with that making me want their 1/48 snowspeeder.
Dragon doing a 1/35 At-At makes me drool, I have been hoping a kit of that scale would come along
Lets just hope they produce it with Magic feet and not go with the DS ones.

Not sure if you guys have seen the photo they show of the 1/35 German figures standing next to the ATAT,but in comparison, that ATAT is not 1/35 ..more like 1/48

You mean this, one of the first photos to come out from DML regarding their new line of kits. It's quite to scale when compared to the available references from the internet. However, as some pointed out, the shins of Dragon's AT-AT are a tad shorter than the studio model's.

The way Dragon is pricing their kits recently, the AT-AT will probably cost a couple hundred bucks! I think I'll stick with their "Hello Kitty" figures - less chance of inaccuracies!

And would a couple hundred bucks be out-of-line for a kit of this size and magnitude? Consider the price of the recent larger kits from Trumpeter, Hobby Boss and Meng like the Scud, Smerch, HET, Patriot, etc. These are all in the $125-$175 dollar range depending on where, currency, etc. And past kits like the Leopolds, Karls, as well as 1/35 boats such as Italeri's PT Boat, E Boat, etc. have been similar in price as well.
So I do expect that this kit will be in the $150-200, which is not unreasonable.

Pretty close based on the new game too (which is canon according to Disney). I can try to get some screen grabs myself later today if need be.

It all depends on which studio model is used as there were several different sized ones. I have the Star Wars archives book dating from 1995 and they used one AT-AT model of 2x6x5 cm, several of 24x53x48 cm and one of 61x163x107 cm, the snow speeder used with the middle size was 12x19x4 cm.
The Executor Super star destroyer was ten foot long had a neon lighting system with an estimated 250,000 pin holes.
Oh an AT-AT was supposed to be able to carry two speeder bikes in the upper back as well as the troops in the main hold.

According to the specs, the model would be 534 mm long (21 inches), 442 mm high (12.6 inches) and 182 mm wide (5.3 inches)
Sound resonable to charge 100 to 120 Euros.

For TIEs during the Galactic Civil War, there are suspended in the air by racks holding them my their wing spars. Pilots enter and exit "their" ships (tie pilots are not assigned a particular vehicle and seldom fly the same one twice) through catwalks suspended from the ceilings of the hanger. However, TIEs have the structural integrity to land onto the bottom of their wings.
For the ties of the new movie, they are also suspended on racks.

No idea if your specs are correct, but your conversions from metric to imperial are incorrect for the height and width - 442mm = 17.4 inches and 182mm = 7.2 inches. I thought your height looked wrong since the AT-AT is almost as high as it is long!
