Hey there irocarmy88, those are some cool pics. Question... Do those WWII tanks and all still operate?
Stay safe.

This is the "new" gas tank. You can find one in the Real Model details set for the M923A1 kit, but it shouldn't be too hard to scratchbuild one

Talking about gun "trucks" here are a few pics showing a modified Humvee used by Army engineers in Iraq :

Hello everyone
thanks for the kind words, I getting more pictures everyday.
The WWII tanks are in okay shape, I think they would work but many items are missing. Another unit here has a Sherman that they fixed and it works.
A unit here has a captured Soviet BMD (Airborne) that works, they drove it at the parade.
Will update more soon.
Thanks

Italeri make models of M925 and M923A1, so I guess you have one of them. Trucks on photos are M923A2. Most noticeable differences between A1 and A2 variants are wheels with CTIS and new gas tank.

As Frenchy wrote you can find new style fuel tank in Real Models detail set and also in Ordnance Models M923A2 wheels set, but this one is OOP now.

Howdy irocarmy88!

Many thx for the 'inside scoop' there soldier! Having a set of eyes on the ground right there in Iraq is exciting for a lot of us 'old soldiers' and thrilling for us modelers. So, keep up the great work and above all else, "keep your head down, your helmet on, and make bloody goddamn sure soldier you get home SAFE!!! For the record....that's an ORDER!

O.K....with that said. Did I hear you right? Another unit has gotten one of the Sherman's runnning?.......hot damn! Can ya believe that?

to Frenchy: Many thx for the pics of the Iraqi Gun Jeeps. Is there any way of getting more info on those vehicles? I would really like to know exactly how they built those up. Can't tell what some of those 'barriers' are made of.
I've got the leftovers of an Italeri Avenger kit (after stealing the Avenger turret off it for my 'Elvis') that would be great for one of these Gun Jeeps! So, any additional info would be great!

Irocarmy88 Welcome to Armorama! Thank you for the pictures and your service to our country! I know some collectors would kill (pardon the pun) to get their hands on the M-24 Chaffee and M-36 Jackson. I am interested in the BMD, I can't make it out well but right above the rear drive sprocket appears to be a FDNY Maltese Cross Memorial emblem, I'm I correct or is it something else? Thanks again keep safe....

Hi Tread
Unfortunately I have no more information about this Humvee. Don't even know if it's the only one of a kind...I don't know any member of the 5th Engineers personnally but maybe someone else over here does, so the search's not over...

To Irocarmy88 : thanks again for the pics !

Hey "irocarmy88",

Those pics are FABULOUS! Keep them coming, especially those uparmored HUMVEE pics. I love that new Tamiya kit and these are great ideas.

Hey, please tell you buddies and yourself a big "Thank You" for your service to America and the newly freed Iraqi folks. Make sure you guys be safe over there and come home after you've had some fun.

Howdy iroc,

Thx for the added pics. The uparmoured Humvee pics really help as well! Thx.

to animal Hey animal, did you see that 5-Ton 'Bigfoot' built-up as a GunTruck? I seriously think that some of you GT veterans ought to Email these guys over there in Iraq right away, and maybe give them some very possibly life-saving input on the proper way to do this! I mean, these guys may have no idea that other's have done this befor them. And as you already know, the 'learning curve' can be fatal!
Just a thought.

Tread.

For crikky sakes...they have a truck with a wooden roofed "dog house" arrangement! Can anyone say......schrapnel!

Greetings from the home front. Those are great pictures. It would be neat to do a dio. with something like that. Have bagdahd bob in it maybe. I feal sorry for them (the tanks). I almost wish the Iraqis had just abandoned them and left the keys in the egnition. Good luck in Iraq.

Thanks for the support, I just took over 50 new photos.
I have detailed shots of the M24 and M36
bf443 you asked
The captured BMD has the 4th Infantry Patch (Ivy Leaf, Ivy Division) with the Horse head on it for the Iron Horse Division, 4th ID. That is the symbol you see on the rear of the BMD.
