I am about to start my 1/16 Hobby Boss Tiger I kit. I was wondering if the mid production Tiger's had the early or late style muzzle brake on them or was it a mixture? Looking for good pictures of what the engine compartment door looked like. What color was the engine compartment and the fan compartment and fuel tank compartment. Was it a primer red color? Basically looking for very good pictures of these areas. Also can anyone recommend a good book that has very good pictures of abandon Tiger I's or ones that are under field repair? Dan

Wow Dan...a 1/16 Tiger. Can only imagine the size of that model.
Anyhoo...what you are asking pinpoints the tank to a particular point in its service life, not just yearly but monthly. So you need to establish roughly what month & year your tank was built & then that will guide us to those points you mentioned. The timeframe when the muzzle brake changed is slightly different to when the interior colours of the engine compartment & the cooling group changed. Your best source will be David Byrden's Tiger I site. Absolute minefield of info there...

Edit I just found the table I was thinking of whilst I was typing my reply. Jentz & Doyle compiled a table which chronologically lists all the changes to Tigers. It can be found in the reference section on missing lynx
