Hi All,
I've been pleasantly surprised with the Humbrol Metalcote (polishable metal) and the AK True metals oils.
Does anyone have any advice on how best to polish? I paint warhammer 40k models mostly, and ones with lots of weak pointy bits, such that cloth polishing isn't always possible.
I've had some decent results with an old paint brush, rigourously drybrushing (without any paint on the brush). Are there any other ways to bring out the polish?
Is the polishing heat/friction based? I.e. could you potentially activate it by using a hair drier (being careful not to heat the model to the point of melting/weakeneing)? Or any other materials that are both soft enough to not break antenna and the like while also causing enough friction to activate the polish effect?
Thanks!

Cotton swabs should work for smaller areas.

Hi Daniel,
I really like the metalcote paints and usually I buff it with a small crumpled up bit of coffee filter or a pipe cleaner. If yer patient and soft on the touch you can get finer/smaller parts to polish up to a metal like finish. It really doesn't take much pressure just constant buffing til you get the amount of shine you are after.
