I think so. Check the Barrel Store website. Some of the Israeli experts here can confirm or deny, but I think that the Centurions all had the British 105mm gun--L68, was that it? I'm not sure. Anyway, Israel tried to standardize on that gun and armed their Centurions, M48s, and M60s with it along with the later Merkavas. The odd man out was the M51Isherman, utilizing a French gun.

The UK version of the 105mm is the L7, the US version is the M68. I have a book on the Centurion at home (At work, 15 minutes to go :-) ). Some may still have had the old 17-pounder (77mm) or a gun in the 90mm range. I'll check when I get home as I have my daily "I survived the Nashville interstates" beer.

According to the following references there are two possible main guns for Centurions during the '67 Six-day war: Israeli Tanks and Combat Vehicles, SteveZaloga; Centurion, Main Battle Tank, LTC David Eshel & Simon Dunstan.

The Israelis starting converting their Centurions to the British L7, 105mm in 1963, however, there were still some Centurions mounting the British 20-pounder in '67.

The Main gun from the original Tamiya M60A1 kit is in fact the British L7, complete with the reinforcing ridges on the bore evacuator.

There are a number of companies that make replacement gun barrels, you would need the L7 105mm. If you can't find a metal one piece replacement, or do not have one of th Tamiya barrels, I have several of the two-piece Tamiya L7 barrels from M60A1 kits. I will gladly send you one.

Ranger gets the cigar, there may have been some that still had the 20pounder (w/bore evacuator) but most had the newer 105mm. You can also choose between those with and those without the accordian mantlet cover. To the best of my knowledge no 17 pounder was ever used by Israel although they may have reeived a few in that configuration.

Shiryon,

You are correct on the 17-pounder. I was working initially from a partial memory lapse, the Centurion started with the 17-lb gun, but the 20-lb was on the Mk3 & 5 Centurions purchased by the Israelis.

Back to the original request. I just checked the "Barrel Store". They carry several M68 105mm (bare tube), however those are only good for the M48/60-series vehicles, which weren't received till after "67. I still recommend the Tamiya M60A1 barrel, as it is actually an L7 British gun tube.
