Other than the fullresin detail set from def models does anyone just make a resin mantle cover for Italeri's M47 Patton

IIRC Def model also does the Mantlet cover in a set on it's own without the extra parts.

Making a mantlet cover really isn't that hard using 2-part epoxy putty (like Aves or Kneadatite) plus you can position the barrel at whatever elevation _you_ want versus the elevation the maker of the resin part wanted.
Just sayin'.

The Def Model detail set is pretty stellar.
Resin, PE, and even decals are included.

Agreed! The DEF Upgrade is the way to fly, on this one...

I think he is looking for a Mantle cover on its own, with any other detail parts.

DEF Models DK35006 is just the canvas and the search light. Its alot cheaper than the entire upgrade set.

It is designed for an ROK M47 so it would need the searchlight mounts removed for a standard M47 mantlet cover. Not a big chore at all...if you can find it.

Hi Nick.
Here is my first attempt at making my own cover.
Used tissue paper soaked in thinned white glue for the basic covering.
Added strips of plastic around the edges. Applied a coating of Mr.Surfacer 500.
I surprised myself with how well it turned out. Sometimes you don't know until you try.

Hope this helps.
