NO! but if you mix a gloss paint with a matt paint at a one to one ratio (50/50) you will have a semi gloss paint

Well that's good news and bad news for me. Good, since applying a clear coat on a canopy won't affect the flat finish on the body. Bad because I need to get a seperate can!

Hi Shonen
Actually, a light coat of gloss over your matt finish may well give you the semi-gloss you're after. It usually takes several coats to build up a full gloss.
Just like Mr Roo suggests with paint, if you mix matt and gloss varnish, you get semi-gloss. Vary the proportions for the finish you want.
I remember some article many years ago in Scale Models, which described airbrushing a mixture of polyurethane varnish with matt enamel paint to create a realistic silky finish. I never tried it, but the results looked great.
Hope this helps
