Still plan to get one but thanks Paul for taking the time for the review and build to let us know of the issues. Heres hoping for either Takom to issue a fix or an AM fix, saying that I have a few drawings to hand so could try and sort it myself.

Thanks. I enjoyed the build. I wanted to build the kit as produced for the review. I just hated to know I have to go back and fix it... Otherwise, it would drive me crazy. I've wanted a Mk 1 for quite a while, but I don't have room for two or three, so it will get squared away even if I do have to scratch the correction.

Still it's a very nice kit...

I have placed an order for the MR Modellbau Mk 1 Female Correction set. We'll see how this set works out for fixing the narrow superstructure. More to follow...

This is an old review thread, but i just finished a build and am waiting for a campaign start so I figured I'd do a little follow up on this build. I received the MR Modellbau Mk I Female update set which includes the wide cab, resin guns and the Palestine exhaust. My copy of this set was pretty rough. Warped parts, huge mold lines on the guns, bubbles in hard to reach places and very hard to see instructions. Oh well, I'd already reworked the guns previously, and I'm not doing a Palestine tank, so I just needed the cab that's the same width as the hull.

So I pulled the sponsons off, pulled off the track housings and cut out the original cab assembly. Trimming, sanding and test fitting repeatedly.

I will update as I progress for those who might be interested.

I made little progress with the MR Modellbau resin update install. All of the viewport pieces were warped and had to be heated in boiling water and straightened as best I could. I filled the joints and reinstalled the sponsons. I have to let the filler dry before I can start priming, but it definately is starting to look more like a true Mk. 1.

Got a light coat of primer on the Mk1. Need a solid base for the acrylics and the weathering products.

Small progress on the Mk 1 Female. Camo applied and weathering has been started

Here is my completed Takom MK 1 Female using the MR Modellbau Mk 1 Female correction set. I didn't want to weather it so much that you couldn't make out the scheme.
