Hello Jerry, nice WW1 German buckle. Is this the only item like this that you have? The reason I ask is that I collect militaria and always on the hunt for items.I have a lot of WW2 German belt buckles including the 3 main ones{ SS, Luftwaffe and Army ones. I like displaying some artifacts alongside my models when possible, and my mancave< bunker> is laid out accordingly. Love to hear your thoughts on this Jerry as some people find it objectionable to disply the German items alongside a Panzer. Personally, I think a Panzer Assault badge enhances a Panzer. As always, best regards....Dale

This is the only WWI item I have. I used to have a complete and all original German late 44 uniform(two pocket) and all the associated web gear. I picked that all up while stationed in Germany in the 1980s. It was augmented by n original German manufactured Kar98K with 44 wapruf stamp.
The only thing I still have is this belt buckle which I picked up for a few marks at a flea market in Mainz.

Hi Jerry, that buckle is a nice item to have. What are your thoughts on displaying artifacts with the models? I would be very interested in your opinion. Too bad you did not still have the uniform and rifle, sounds like they were good items. Best regards....Dale

I think it makes a nice addition to the model or dio for display and adds interest. I saw a compass used for one and it looked awesome, also I know a airplane model guy that usually includes parts from real a/c to attach to the base.
