Was just wondering if anyone could give me an idea of where to get hold of some cheap Panzer III N tracks, I have the Tamiya kit built up but the box (along with decals and tracks) has been thrown out a long time ago so I don't want to spend too much on it but it would be nice to get it finished. I have some old Dragon Panzer 3/4 tracks but it seems the N has a wider sprocket so these don't fit. Fruli's are over £20 so would be looking for something far cheaper.
Thanks

Academy did a cheap set of individual link track for the Pz III/IV that often appears at shows for under £10. I think it's designed for the Tamiya kits so not sure if the pitch and lateral spacing will fit and it's the late type with solid guide horns and ice cleats. Probably OK for a late war Pz III N but not for Tunisia. You could modify the trouser bars but opening out the guide horns isn't my idea of fun and for those I'd buy a set with the hollow type as I value my time more highly.

IF you already have some Dragon link Pz III/IV mid or later version tracks (any 40cm set fits the standard real sprockets of mid- and later war III, IV, and StuG types - earlies had a narrower 36cm track which fit a narrower real sprocket) - what you need to find is a Dragon III sprocket!
The older Tamiya kits had wider sprockets (overly-wide for 1/35 scale) to fit their rubberbands. The Dragon kit sprockets for any III F or later, any IV E or later, any StuG III or IV will fit Dragon "40cm" link track sets.
What to do? Ask around HERE and see if anyone has a pair of sprockets they can spare! Or you can buy one or another AM III sprocket set. The AM sprockets will all, I think, fit the Dragon link track sets. A sprocket set would likely be rather cheaper than a track set, and you would probably rather have a track set of the correct dimensions than one created to fit that old over-sized Tamiya sprocket!

Alas, that set was designed to fit Academy's clones of the 1975 Tamiya Panzer IV kits. They are way out of scale for a current kit, being far too wide (thought they might serve on the Monogram/Revell 1/32nd scale reissues of the Panzer IV series). Tamiya's newer Panzer III and IV kits are correctly scaled, but there may be minute differences in width or link spacing that would make other brands' track not fit. You may have to modify the sprockets.

Ger O;
That's why I suggest getting hold of some Dragon sprockets if Champy already has some Dragon links! I've tried Kaizen and ModelKasten links on Dragon sprockets and they appear to fit OK. I know nada about any of the other AM III/IV link sets, but I sort of assume that most resin and metal sets would fit to a Dragon sprocket - maybe with a small amount of thinning the sprocket teeth on the inner side or outer side if needed.
And thanks for the heads-up on those Academy sets. Fortunately, I have several sets of Dragon III/IV links to mostly meet my anticipated needs, so I won't be tempted to go the Academy way!
