All the TUSK I SEPs I have ever seen pictures of were Sand. I have seen M1A1s in NATO camo with TUSK.

All M1A2s up until a couple of years ago were sand. A couple years ago, M1A2 SEP v2 tanks in Korea were the first one to be painted NATO camo. Based on that, all M1A2 SEP TUSK tanks were sand. No M1A2 SEP v2s have worn TUSK. TUSK is only added in combat situations and no M1A2 SEP v2s have been deployed to combat.

A few more...
The TC's gun shields are not necessarily part of TUSK 1, but part of the TUSK system, which includes many different parts that can be added or removed as needed.

Iraq only. Only Marines had Abrams tanks in A-stan but they don't have M1A2 tanks and don't use full TUSK armor package on their M1A1s.

Ok I just want to get this straight, for my own thoughts here, because I'm still learning about the Abrams variants.
M1A1 AIM - No TUSK has ever been fitted?
M1A2 SEP V1 - TUSK I and TUSK II?
M1A2 SEP V2 - No Tusk ever?
Can the M1A2 SEP V1 be painted in NATO three tone with TUSK 1 in sand color?

Dustin,
M1A1 AIM: Sand or NATO painted vehicles. Tan TUSK 1 components. Tankograd has a good reference book that shows a 1AD (2-35 Armor) NATO camoed M1A1 AIM with sand TUSK components fitted.
M1A2 SEP: Sand vehicles with sand TUSK I and TUSK II components
M1A2 SEP V2: Sand and NATO camo (Korea) vehicles. TUSK has not been fited to M1A2 V2s to date.

Thank you very much, John! I still need to get up that way and come hang out with y'all.
So, now I just need to buy a Voyager PE TUSK 1 and a Dragon M1A2 SEP.
Thanks again.

The best bet is to find a picture of the specific tank you want to build and build it as it is in the picture. TUSK components changed over time and were added or removed as needed. So it depends.

Your best bet is to get yourself the Tankograd book on the M1 TUSKs in Iraq, there's multitudes of M1s in various TUSK configurations.
The best part is the reference material for your build which will be invaluable for you.
Cheers Ben
