It is quite an unsusal source for information about Italeri kits, but this is what can be found on Tamiya Japan web page as 2004 1/35 armor releases from Italeri:
6217 Pz.Kpfw. IV Ausf. F1/F2
6432 Crusader Mk.I
6433 Sd.Kfz. 230 6 Rad
6434 SWS and demolition team "Goliath"
6435 LEOPARD II A6 EX
6436 LCM 3 - 50' Landing Craft
6437 German Horse Drawn convoy
6438 M1 A1 Abrams Super Kit Line
Here is the link to full list of releases (incl. 1/72 armor and aircraft in all scales):
http://www.tamiya.com/japan/news/italeri/2004new.htm
As everyone expected we will get M1A1 from Italeri - the layout of parts on sprues in their M1A2 kit clearly indicated other versions coming. We will also get Leo 2A6 EX - this is the tank Tamiya should release, instead of plain Jane Leopard 2A6 they announced for February! I already consider purchasing the Italeri kit to use additional front hull armor parts in Tamiya Leo 2A6

This is the first I’ve heard about an LCM…be still my heart! I can smell a PTO dio in the works.

Is it just me or does it seem Tamiya has a LOT of ground to make up? DML, Italeri, AFV Club, all have new and exciting stuff anounced. I've seen a few things anounced from Tamiya but mostly old kits reboxed with some PE and such.

Halfyank, I think you nailed it right on the head. I don't understand it myself and whats even more puzzling to me is why the big "T" has not redone the AAVP7A1 to reflect the war. I hear others talk about the R.C. part of there business is much more profitable and that is where they put most of there effort. I don't know if its true but it could explain alot.

Yeah Rodger. I've been wondering the same thing about Tamiya. You would think with all that dough they might be inclined to DO something. Lol....but of course if they did, it would probably be something GERMAN anyway!
God knows, we don't have enough german armour kits available........do we!?!

Hmm, me thinks Italeri is also home in the art of reboxing and combining kits.
The Goliath demolition team and German horse drawn convoy sound as old Esci kits to me.
If they re-tooled the mould they will make interesting kits. If they've used the Esci moulds then I'm not so sure.

Majority of recent Italeri releases are Esci reboxes. I think it is safe to assume that each new Italeri kit that presents the same subject as old Esci kit, is in fact Esci kit...
