I'm tinkering with an idea for a diorama and was wondering, did the Group of Soviet Forces in Germany/Western Group of Forces get BTR-80's?

And is there any difference between a Soviet BTR-80 and a Russian one that I should know of?

Sorry, forgot to mention that I'm looking for the time frame 1986-1991, as I want to portrait Soviet forces in DDR.

Hi;

"NO" There are no Differences, and the BTR-80 is fine ! and you could also use the BTR-70 aswell. Both vehicles fit your Time-frame !
