" . . [T]he goal is offering modelers around the world the best of the two, great and accurate models and the best products for their assembling, painting and weathering."

So . . . like Testors and Humbrol/Heller did thirty years ago.

Earth-shattering news. The sky's the limit with this deal.

Before you write, simply being un-enthused is not the same as being negative and not every announcement warrants shouts of joy. This one looks to have about as much novelty, utility, and appeal to modelers as a company announcing that they found a new supplier to provide their kit boxes.

Well, now there will be brand-loyal paint to put through that new Meng airbrush...

Perhaps a pre-cursor to an outright take-over. I'm guessing Meng is part of something larger than itself.

Well...personally, I think AK is saturating the market with too way too many pigments, filters, washes, lighteners, what have you, to the point of redundancy...!

Well in the Trumpeter German Fennek kit, for example, the paint call outs are by AMMO- so for a start we'll probably see Meng paint call outs by AK. Matthew mentioned their airbrush and the paint for that, plus there will probably be re-boxings of Meng kits with AK paints and perhaps guides included. I also don't think AK is saturating any market- they are competing against other manufacturers such as Mig Pigments, True Earth, AMMO, Vallejo, Life Color to name only a select few. I use stuff by different brands- including AK and I think their stuff is great- I think its a pretty shrewd move to partner up with a brand such as Meng too. It'll be interesting to see what comes out of the partnership.

I'm not crazy about call-outs for hard-to-get paints, but Tamiya usually only calls out their own paints, sooooo.
