Hi, not sure if this should be posted here or in the figures or painting forum? Anyway I was hoping for some advice from anyone with any knowledge of soviet tank crew uniforms. I'm painting one of Alpine's soviet tank crew and the figure is dressed in a short (waist length) black leather jacket over a set of coveralls. The box art shows two versions of colour for the coveralls - black (leather?) and a fetching bright blue! The figure I want to depict is in Berlin in 1945 at the latter stages of the war. Does anyone know the correct colour for the coveralls? From my research it would appear that the black coveralls were only issued to crews for victory parades at the end of the war? Any suggestions would be gratefully received. Thanks

Russian WW2 Tank Uniforms
Not sure where they get the blue but it says something about a tank officer's uniform has blue pants.

Quite a range, apparently. Greens, browns, greys, blues etc.. There is a Windrow & Greene book on WW2 Soviet uniforms with lots of photos of original items and you would appear to have considerable latitude.

In Andrew Mollo's "Armed Forces of WWII Uniforms, Insignias &Organizations" it states, "the overalls came in a number of different patterns & colors which ranged from black to grey".
The drawing of the tanker had him in a 1943 coverall that was a brownish khaki color with a brown leather helmet.
So, I think you have lots of options.
HTH !
