I bought Dragons Mid Tiger 1 with zimm, kit 6700 and several of the reviews I read said kit 6700 is the Otto Carius kit minus a few parts. I want to build Otto's tank and now I am curious as to what parts that were left out of kit 6700 that I would need. Anyone know?

Hi Greg,

For starters, you need early tracks i.e. no ice cleats and a flat, early Porsche mantlet.

Other than these two, I don't think you need anything else, but I have my reservations, there always might be something else!

That's all you need, apart from decals, and a willingness to base your paint scheme on poor photos.

Thanks! I have two sets of Otto Carius decals, a black numbered set and a white numbered set. As far as the photo's go, it is what it is unless there are new ones that are discovered. I already have the track but where might I get the mantlet?

Well, I don't know. There are plenty of spare mantlets without zimmerit in the various Dragon Tiger kits, but the Zimmerited mantlet in the Carius kit has only ever been released - as a not-spare part - in their 6797 kit.

Thanks David, and I looked online. It is sprue "T" in kit 6797 if anyone else is interested.

this mantlet (with the sleeve) comes as a spare part in kits 6252, 6600, 9142 and 6352.
