Just a quick question: can I use AK Interactive/Mig pigments over dullcote? It's not an acrylic varnish, so there's a chance of they reacting. I'm testing it on an old model, but I would like to know if there is ANY chance of reaction.
Thank you

There is a chance, be it a small chance, as both are enamel based. I would suggest a coat of an acrylic flat coat.

I'm going to try this tonight. Filters are new to me I'm curious what they do.
I had thought that Dullcoat was a lacquer. Is that wrong?

I know you have to be careful with it. A week ago I shot a coat over some dry transfers which were over clear gloss lacquer (applied for decals that self destructed) which in turn was over Tamiya spray bomb paint. The transfers had been very sharp and I was thinking of doing something to them to make them look hand painted. The Dullcoat melted the transfers and made them look just right. I did not intent this, it was just a happy accident. It could easily have been otherwise . . .

Andras,
I've used Mig filters and washes extensively over both dull and gloss cote. As long as you don't slop it on too heavy and with too many subsequent coats it seems to do just fine. They are enamel based and largely thinner so use them in moderation or eventually it can eat through the "cote" and start thinning the base layer and primer.

Thank you Bill,
I've tried it after some experimentation on an other model, and it worked; but it's definitely worth knowing to go easy on it, because there IS a chance of reaction. (Would not like it to happen to a review sample...)
