I have AFV Club Wolverine and Academy Achilles. Though I haven't started yet, I have taken out the large parts for test fit. Both are great kits.

For a start I would suggest the Academy one, as it has interior and provides lots of spare parts.

The new Duckbill version may be the best one yet, as it also includes an engine.

Thanks! This unit has been tempting me to buy it whenever I passed through my local hooby store.

PMMS has good reviews of both kits, and a full-build review of the AFV Club kit. Since both are pretty good, I'd get the Academy one - it's better bang for your buck, as the AFV Club kit probably costs twice as much.

Go for the New Duckbill if you get Academy, actually price is pretty close about 6 or 7 dollars difference between the AFV Club & Academy at least here in the US it is.
I have grown accustomed to the Academy one but get some add- on tracks Friul or AFV club ones!! Plus barrel and Pe set and the Squardon walk around on American Tank Destroyers!
Will be good when you get the M-36 one to go with it or the M-18!!

My 2¢: I currently have both the AFV Club M-10 (the one with the Armored cover for the turret) and an Acad. M-10, and the M-10 "duckbill". The AFV Club M-10 has many a small/fragile part....read: the break real fricken easy. I am using verlinden's interior and exterior update for it (resin is not my friend). Since I am not finished I cannot attest to the fit or finish of this model, however I will say I isn't going together as hassle free as the Academy M-10's I have.

The academy kits go together with relative ease. Little bit of filling here, little bit of sanding there. IMHO very much like a Tamiya kit. I know the new "Duckbill" has the upper turret in just 2 peices (not including the counterweights and all that jazz) and from my initial inspection, no "impossible to remove" pin or sink marks, actually I don't think there were any at all...just like the M-36 Jackson I bought. Oh yeah and it has an engine and engine compartment to boot!!

Now regarding the actually physical accuracy of the kit, you'll have to ask someone esle, I'm no rivet counter. It looks close enough for government work for me. For me the hobby is about learning, building and capturing a semblance of the real thing..... Looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it's gotta be a duck! Anyway good luck with whichever you choose!
