Saw this pre-order on Pacific Coast Models and would like to know if it saw active service.

It should have been tossed into the trash basket and incinerated before Amusing Hobby found it!

Is there any history behind this one? Amusing Hobby have previously done stuff that's appeared in games, but this oddity never made it to WoT. All the rest I can find seems to be other pre-existing models and not a lot of substance.

Someone made a model of this before WoT, but I can't recall who. The Germans were also building a prototype of the Morsertrager (mortar on a 38t non-Hetzer chassis), so maybe it's an extension of this.
I'm glad they are doing it, as it gives me hope I'll see several other Hetzer variants in styrene. And Amusing is just an awesome company with lots of stuff in the box.
EDIT: Kora models shows a munitions Hetzer (based on the IFV Katzchen prototype). http://images.auctionhelper.com/images/10343//KORA/KORA3518a.jpg

I don't recall reading about this in either of Panzer Tracts' Paper Panzers. But who knows it may have some basis somehow, somewhere. Cheers

I can't believe that there is anything historical to this thing. The chassis could in no way bear the weight, not to mention the recoil.
I think the Grille was the end of the line caliber wise for the 38t.
