I feel the same way about mine. Isn't that one of the good things about the newer Tamiya kits, that they make you look forward to actually building them?

Parts fit is great, and the parts are keyed left and right so you really have to go all out to screw it up. I hope they will do more.

Me too. This one really upped the bar for them with all the correct weld details and such.

Not sure about Tamiya, but tomorrow is the first day of Spielwarenmesse at Nurnberg, so let us be prepared to avalanche of numerous announcements from different companies and let them meet our expectations!

Probably been asked before, but how does this kit compare to the Dragon Easy Eight kit(Thunderbolt V11)? Asking because I've got this sitting in the stash waiting to be built.

IMHO ... much better. I wouldn't bother with the Dragon kit. Either the Tamiya or Tasca. Both have pluses and minuses, but the Tamiya is the easiest to construct.

I have the Dragon Easy 8.I will still build only for an uparmored Creighton Abrams Model, replacing the Dragon suspension with AFV Club. Also have 2 of the Tasca/Asuka kits which are more complicated than the latest Tamiya.I also have the Tamiya reboxed Tasca kit.You never can have enoght Easy 8 Shermans.

True, lots of Shermans in the stash makes me a happy modeler.

Agreed. All three of course have their pros and cons. For Dragon kit, the indi magic tracks have nicer details than the rubber ones from Tamiya. Tasca one is more expensive but has more details and its M2 .50 cal is really nice. I think that alone is worth $10. Ease of build of course, Tamiya hands down.

Working on upper hull. There is a piece that holds upper hull to lower.I used it per instructions but the front one got in the way pushing the transmission cover bolt strip forward so i removed the attachment piece from front upper hull.Much better fit and I glued upper to lower hull with Tenax.
