I was wondering why we haven't seen aftermarket barrels for these two kits from the major mfg's (RB model, Aber, Voyager)? I seem to remember seeing a replacement barrel for the JS-7 even before the kits hit the shelves, there were many complaints about the 2 piece barrel in the Conqueror kit as I recall, and the voyager PE set for the T-10 seems to show an replacement barrel, but none is listed that I can find. Does anyone have any info?

Orange Hobby has a T-10 barrel out now, if that helps.

I saw that one, but honestly I would really rather have the look of a fully machined barrel if I'm going to pay extra for an aftermarket one, and that still leaves the Conqueror without a replacement.

Most AM barrels makers will have any bore excavator not at the end of the barrel cast in resin. I don't think you can do it accurately in just turned metal alone.

RB model did a barrel for the object 279 that was beautiful, I used it on my Amusing hobby kit. The T-10 barrel is basically the same thing, just smaller I think.

no, 279 and t-10 have different barrels

Voyager showed one on the PE sets for T-10 but it is not released yet....

Orange is way to expensive

What I meant when I said: "basically the same thing, just smaller I think" was that the basic shapes and details were similar enough, that it should not be too much trouble to produce the T-10 barrel.

That's a T-10M tube, not a T-10.

Sorry, I did not realize that the barrels were different between the T-10 and the T-10m, thanks for that Kurt, I've got some more research to do. I have ordered the Meng T-10m, so the M model is the one I'm interested in. I am still curious why there no replacements for the Conqueror's 2 piece barrel, and the T-10(m)? did the kits not sell well enough to warrant the effort?

I think there are two factors at play.

One is that kits are getting better and people aren't willing to spend a significant amount of money for extras that might only marginally improve the kit.

The other is that kits are coming so fast these days that the aftermarket just can't keep up. I'm sure that there is a time decay function on sales such that if the aftermarket comes too long after the kit's release it will just never sell enough.

Other than barrels, tires, and PE, I've seen very little aftermarket released in the past few years.
